This work is done by making imprints with pieces of fuel hose. Three of the pieces are attached to the bottom of the panel. At the ends, 30 meters of hose are attached and curled on the floor below. The arches on the image and the fuel hose beneath create a closed circuit.
Jörmungandr is the Norse word for the Midgard Serpent that lived in the oceans and was so huge that it covered the whole world. There is an old story that Thor went fishing with the giant Hymer and got the Midgard Serpent on the hook. He tried to get the beast up in the boat, but Hymer got scared and cut the line. The Serpent rises from the sea during Ragnarok, and Thor has to kill it. By doing so, he dies himself from the wounds, and the world ends.
I view this work as an allegory of Norwegian oil production. Jörmungandr is the oil deep in the sea, and the hubris of Thor is the Norwegian state represented by Equinor trying to harvest it all, thus rushing Ragnarok along.

Res Ipsa is a compilation of works made by an act shaping the filler once it is prepared inside the frame. The works thus function as a recording device and give a statement of the event taking place while the filler was still wet.

Res Ipsa is Latin for "the thing itself" and is part of the juridical term "Res ipsa loquitur" (the thing speaks for itself), used when an injury or accident in itself clearly shows who is responsible, such as an instrument left inside a body after surgery.
